I’ve always been a sucker for Thanksgiving, or Turkey Day (as I like to call it). The coming together as a family, the rustic decoration, and the amazing food all come together once a year to create a memorable occasion. But my favorite thing about Thanksgiving is the Turkey, and now with Nutrisystem’s Roasted Turkey Medallions I can have my own little Thanksgiving whenever I want to.
IT’S A HEALTHY ALL-IN-ONE COMFORT MEAL
Made up of a slow-roasted turkey, topped with a delicious gravy, and paired with creamy mashed potatoes, these Roasted Turkey Medallions are an all-in-one meal that will satisfy even the biggest appetite. Despite the small portion, which disappointed me at first, this is a very filling meal. So much, in fact, that I often feel full when I’ve eaten about half of it, and still have plenty of bites left on my plate.

This is also one of the healthiest comfort meals I’ve ever had as well. Not only is Turkey one of the leanest kinds of meat out there, but its 270 calories give me just the right amount of energy I’m going to use. It’s high protein content, 21g, also ensures that I’m gaining muscle while losing fat. And while its 8g of fat may seem like a lot, the generous portion of mashed potatoes and filling nature of Turkey ensures that I’m too full to repeat.
THE TASTE IS REALLY SIMILAR TO THE ORIGINAL
I’ve eaten a lot of frozen Roasted Turkey Medallions before, but this is definitely up there with the best of them. Most frozen Turkeys have a fake taste, but this one tastes like the real deal. Wonderfully crispy on the outside but tender on the inside, Turkey’s flavor is enhanced even more by the tasty gravy and mashed potatoes.
But my favorite thing about this dish is how well it goes with extra vegetables. Throwing a couple of cooked baby carrots can really add to its flavor and nutritional value. Same goes with mushrooms, which also makes it taste more like a Thanksgiving dinner. Other healthy additions that go wonderfully with the gravy include green beans, corn, and steamed broccoli.
IT’S EASY TO COOK AND SERVE
I’ve always been a terrible cook, so most of the time I’ve had to settle with whatever my mom or wife cooked for me. Of course, it didn’t help that some of my favorite foods where the hardest ones to cook. But now thanks to the Nutrisystem Roasted Turkey Medallions I can finally have my own Thanksgiving dinner whenever I want to.
This dish can be cooked both in a conventional oven or on a microwave. The best way to prepare it though is in an oven since slow cooking really brings out the Turkey’s flavor. However, if I’m too hungry or I’m in a hurry, the microwave is also a good alternative to get the job done quickly. But regardless of how it’s done, there’s no doubt that this dish is a treat that beckons one back again and again!
